New Orleans, LA Summary
The Senior Program Coordinator for Engagement and Outreach supports the engagement, and outreach efforts for scholar cohort programs within Newcomb-Tulane College. Working closely with the director, this role is essential in implementing program initiatives, daily cohort operations, and ensuring scholars have access to the academic resources and support they need to thrive. The coordinator maintains strong communication with students, faculty, and university partners, addressing student needs, tracking academic and co-curricular progress, and facilitating resource access. Additionally, this position assists in the collection of data to support the director in tracking student matriculation, retention, academic achievement and engagement. The coordinator also provides individualized support and outreach for a primary caseload of up to 70 students to include First-Time Freshmen (FTF) and second year scholars. The role also involves organizing and coordinating events designed to enhance academic and co-curricular experience for scholar cohorts. Success in this position requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, the ability to collaborate across departments, and a strong commitment to student success in higher education. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 year of relevant experience
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5 years of relevant experience Required Education and/or Experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Research and Academic Writing skills
  • Ability to work with student cohorts
  • Academic Coaching competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Concur, Kronos, SciQuest
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Program development skills
  • Experience in working individually with students Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education or a related field
  • Experience supervising student employees
  • Experience managing program budgets
  • Experience working with professors and staff in a university setting
  • Experience planning programs and events for undergraduate students
  • Experience supporting undergraduate students from broad backgrounds Compensation Information
    This position is classified as “exempt, salaried” and is assigned to pay grade 24.
