Senior Program Coordinator, Service Learning Academic Affairs, Center for

Public Service Location:

New Orleans, LA Summary
The Senior Program Coordinator works with the Assistant Director to implement and support the Service-Learning Program. Duties include providing individualized support to service-learning faculty, coordinating service projects, orientations, trainings, and student leadership development. The Senior Program Coordinator works closely with the Center’s staff on supervision of assigned Service Learning Assistants. Additional duties include working with the Center’s leadership on support and planning around a strategic initiative of the Center. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated commitment to community and/or civic engagement.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work in a fast-paced office balancing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work non-standard work schedule (occasional evenings and weekends as needed).
  • Proficient computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with support staff, colleagues and business partners alike.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed. Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years’ community and student development work experience
    OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years’ community and student development work experience. Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience with service learning, higher education student leadership development, community engagement or engaged scholarship.
  • At least one year of experience working with faculty or community organization.
