Summer Work Program Multilingual Lead Facilitator Position Type:
Seasonal, Part-Time Start & End Dates:
June 16•August 14
Hours:
6/16-6/27 is 20 hrs/week and 7/7-8/14 is 30 hrs/week
Pay Range:
$30•36 hourly ($30 rate for community educators, $45 rate for SPS certified teachers; $50 for LPS certified teachers)
Availability:
Monday•Thurs 9:00am to 4:00pm (in-person); any days you choose 2 hours (virtual)
Location:
Salem LEAP office (June 16•June 27); Salem State Univ (July 7•August 14)

SWP Site Coordinator While the school year is still in session, we can be flexible with the weekly hours and schedule.
JOB SUMMARY
Foster a sense of community and provide personalized case-managment for an assigned cohort of multilingual learner (ML) students throughout the summer program. Facilitators are responsible for ensuring all students in their cohort are on track for meeting the program goals and have the scaffolds, resources, and support they need to be successful.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Create an engaging, fun, and inclusive environment for students Facilitate cohort meetings and small group conversations Emphasize each program component, helping students make connections and add relevance to their learning Motivate and inspire students with their projects Assist students in their hiring paperwork Collaborate with Career Coordinator and set language development outcomes for their cohort
SKILLS REQUIRED
Licensed
ML/EL/ESL
teacher Strong communication skills, written and verbal Committed to values of diversity, equity, and inclusion Must agree to a CORI background check Familiarity with Google Drive Proficient or fluent Spanish language skills strongly preferred
ABOUT SUMMER WORK PROGRAM
LEAP’s Summer Work Program is a 6-week program for students aged 14-19 to get early job experience, explore their interests, learn how to set goals, and build their long-term career readiness skills. ML learners will do this in a supportive environment that aids in developing their written and oral English literacy skills.
Program Goals:
Provide students with high-quality career development experiences that foster positive connection to peers, employers, mentors, and the larger community Support the development of key soft skills through workshops and applied learning Engage students in projects that connect to a career of interest
