Summary:

The Child Life Specialist role is responsible for planning and implementing a therapeutic program for the psychosocial needs of patients and their families that assesses and supports a child’s understanding of healthcare experiences, emotional support, pain and/or anxiety management, socialization, developmental needs, coping styles, and family/parent/sibling support.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.

License/Certifications:

Certified Child Life Specialist from the Association of Child Life Professionals required or earned within one year of hire.

Experience:

One year of Child Life experience preferred.
