Competitive, with benefits, based on experience About the PLC The PLC is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing professional logging through education, advocacy, responsible forest management, and safety. It administers the Master Logger Certification Program® (MLCP), an FSC-certified program for family forest landowners. Role Overview The Certification Coordinator (CC) will support and help lead certification initiatives under the direction of the Deputy Executive Director of Certification. The position is field- and outreach-focused, involving work with loggers, landowners, conservation groups, and certification bodies. Key Responsibilities Recruit and engage logging professionals across the Northeast.
Promote certification program benefits through outreach and communication.
Design and deliver logger training and education programs.
Coordinate and assist with MLCP and FSC audit processes.
Support regional partnerships and the expansion of the certification network.
Develop incentive programs for small-acreage land owners/loggers.
Travel throughout the Northeast for site visits and outreach. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in forestry, forest operations, natural resource management, business or a related field.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs.
Self-motivated and effective in both independent and team settings.
Willingness to travel regionally in the Northeast. Preferred Qualifications At least five years of project management experience.
Background in logging, forestry, or third-party certification programs (e.g., FSC).
