Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and FamilyServices is seeking an organized, professional, and resultsoriented individual to serve as Reimbursement Officer for PaymentDetermination and Reconciliation. Under general supervision, thisposition will perform a variety of professional reimbursementduties involved in the maintenance of the complex board paymentsystem for the Department. The position will investigate andevaluate DCFS payment amounts from various reports, in compliancewith rules established by the Department. This position will alsoindependently research and analyze discrepancies in dailytransactions and analyze field and provider inquiries related toeligible board payments for relative/traditional children. We invite you to join our innovative team tohelp make a positive difference in the lives of the children andfamilies of Illinois Essential Functions Serves as ReimbursementOfficer for Payment Determination and Reconciliation Independentlyresearches and analyzes discrepancies in daily transactionsInvestigates and analyzes field and provider inquiries related toeligible board payments for relative/traditional childrenInvestigates and analyzes information necessary to determineeligible payments for relative/traditional children, including AFDCeligibility status, movement of DCFS and non-DCFS children into andout of a home, provider social security number changes andverification, licensing status changes and verification, andchanges in the approval status regarding specialized foster careConducts investigations to complete placement/payment authorizationinformation to procure relevant information needed to change theDCFS provider ID number with which children are associated based ondata in the cluster database and licensing screens Audits claimvouchers to ensure compliance with rules and regulationspromulgated by statute as well as internal policies, procedures,and contractual agreements Serves as liaison with private agencies,relative caregivers, DHFS and other agencies, central officelicensing staff, central and regional office contract staff, andother appropriate entities with regard to board errors, methods ofcorrection, and interpretation of rules and regulations establishedby the Department, providing instruction as needed Performs otherduties as required or assigned which are reasonably within thescope of the duties enumerated above Minimum QualificationsRequires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent tocompletion of four years of college with courses in accounting,economics, or business administration, preferably including coursesin insurance, estate, and probate law Requires one year of workexperience in the reimbursement field Conditions of EmploymentRequires ability to pass a background check.
