Schedules staff, consultants, transportation, service-related events, medical appointments and communicates with support coordinators at regional offices and/or targeted case management entities. Ensures staff compliance with agency policy. Provides direction and training for assigned staff to ensure care meets the expectations of the organization, state, and accreditation requirements. Completes the evaluation of all assigned staff in conjunction with the Program Specialist. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. MEDICAL Responsible for medical appointments by scheduling and transporting individuals (physical, dental, eye examinations, laboratory work, day programs or any other outings that may be required, etc.). The House Manager may work with the Lead DSP to complete appointments but is ultimately responsible for ensuring they occur timely and are documented and followed up on.; Ensures all significant medical updates are communicated to the individual’s team including agency RN and Service Coordinator; Obtains/ensures medical treatment for illnesses or injuries in a timely manner. Ensures all medication changes are clearly documented in, Therap on-line records, Physician Orders, and MAR; Approves EMARs monthly and checks for accuracy, keeping all staff and the pharmacy informed of changes; Takes action to resolve monthly directive items received from Program Specialist and submits comments back to PS by the last day of the current month; Responsible for ensuring all staff scheduled for shifts are current with delegations, skills trainings, and all other trainings according to CDD’s policies; Assist RN in Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST) completion as requested;

DOCUMENTATION

Supports PS, as needed, with completing APTS in accordance with required timelines and communicates progress to Program Specialist; Attends Annual ISP meetings with individuals to act as an advocate for their needs, wants, and desires; Is prepared to attend monthly service monitoring conducted by the TCM as needed; Ensure all staff read and acknowledge individuals’ annual plans in Therap; Conducts all in-home skills training to DSPs as needed; Monitor assigned locations at least once a week, or more often as needed, to check accuracy of EMAR, medical documentation, financial ledgers, status of food in the home and other general health and safety functions in the home and for individuals; filling out the Site Visit form once a week and submit to PS by end of the week; Submits information for event reports (EMT) directly into CIMOR; SAFETY Ensures emergency drills are completed monthly as required; Review and complete follow-up of “high” shift notes in Therap daily to be aware of things needing addressed at locations and ensure those things are addressed; Schedules maintenance and oversees the site implementation of the agency’s Physical Facilities and Safety Policy; inspects all areas of the facility daily, maintaining adequate housecleaning standards, and entering maintenance and repairs into the electronic system and notifying maintenance directly for emergency maintenance repairs; Ensures safe and continuous operations of assigned vehicles, if applicable, e.g. schedules maintenance and repairs as needed, reports needed repairs, accidents, and traffic violations; ensure that the van is available for a monthly inspection; Schedules vans for transportation needs; Maintains a “designated” driving status

STAFFING

Communicates daily with all staff to provide consistency in addressing each individual’s needs; Documents staff attendance and leave time; reviews electronic timekeeping records for accuracy and approves hours worked; Process staff occurrences (absences and incidents of tardiness); Is responsible for disciplinary matters in conjunction with the Program Specialist related to policy and procedure violations for their subordinates; Works with Program Specialist to ensure monthly in-home staff meetings are conducted; Submits staff evaluations in a timely manner; Maintains effective working relationships with supervisor and peers; Supervises and schedules sufficient staff to maintain required staffing ratios;

COMMUNICATION

Has on-call responsibility which may include filling in to work shifts in the absence of a DSP, altering schedule as necessary to meet individual needs; Review and respond to email correspondence in an efficient and timely manner; FINANCE Requests weekly household, individual funds, house petty cash funds; plans and maintains menus; orders and purchases food and household supplies; replaces worn items, ensuring adequate supplies are available to operate the home. The House Manager may work with the Lead DSP on these items but is ultimately responsible to ensure they are completed.; Oversees individual money expenditures and maintains required ledgers at the home; Makes adjustments in household budget and spending as directed by the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Program Officer, or Chief Executive Officer; Monitors overtime including turning in variance reports (for ISL’s only) as necessary with monthly program reports;

INDIVIDUALS

Provides companionship, emotional support, crisis intervention and behavioral counseling to individuals; Monitors personal appearance of individuals; Provide opportunities for regular community outings and/or activities at least twice per week Competencies Communication Proficiency Flexibility Person Centered focused Has sufficient field experience to meet state guidelines and ability to pass training courses in medication administration, First Aid and CPR Sufficient experience in individualized program development Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and type in English Valid Missouri class E Chauffeur’s License or Kansas Class C license Supervisory Responsibility Directly supervises Direct Support Professionals, Lead Direct Support Professional, and other house staff as applicable Work Environment This job operates in either a group home, Independent Supported Living and/or Administrative Office setting with exposure to high levels of noise, human elements such as (blood, urine, etc.); frequent interruptions and fast paced working conditions. In this role standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines are routinely used. Office space utilizes two floors requiring navigating stairs. Physical Demands The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, climb, or bend. The employee must constantly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Also requires stepping up into commercial passenger vans. Positon Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with core hours of work from 8:30am-5:00pm. This position may require “after” hour work as well as some weekend work Travel Travel will be throughout the metropolitan area with the possibility of occasional travel outside the metro area as business dictates using your personal vehicle or agency vehicle Required Education and/or Experience High school diploma and at least one-year of supervisory experience with persons with developmental disabilities or related field Preferred Education and Experience Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education, rehabilitation or related social or behavioral science field, and has a minimum of two years’ supervisory experience with persons with developmental disabilities or related field.
