We work to eradicate oppression in a divisive world by: Developing leaders and changemakers Connecting youth via immersive educational programming Building cross-cultural understanding through empathy and humility Welcoming diverse allies & partners The Manager of Emerging Youth is responsible for the coordination, implementation, facilitation, and continuous improvement of LEAD STL’s core middle school programs: the Emerging Changemakers Fellowship and Camp LEAD. This role combines leadership, logistics management, curriculum development, and relationship-building to deliver transformative experiences that promote youth leadership, cultural awareness, and social justice. As the lead facilitator for the Emerging Changemakers Fellowship, the Manager will guide monthly programming while also supporting Camp LEAD and other

initiatives as needed. This position is an integral part of the programming team and contributes to curriculum development, facilitation planning, and overall program strategy.
Program Facilitation & Leadership:
Serve as Lead Facilitator for the Emerging Changemakers Fellowship and support facilitation across LEAD STL’s middle school programs.
Curriculum Development & Evaluation:
Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate, and equity-centered curriculum; use feedback and data to drive continuous improvement.
Student Recruitment & Selection:
Lead recruitment efforts to build diverse cohorts through school, community, and organizational partnerships.
Family & Community Engagement:
Communicate regularly with families and partners; support inclusive events and promote ongoing engagement.
Trip & Event Coordination:
Plan and manage immersive experiences, including logistics, safety, and educational partnerships.
Team Supervision & Collaboration:
Recruit, train, and support seasonal program staff and facilitators; collaborate closely with the program team.
Operations & Budget Management:
Work with the team to keep things running smoothly, and take the lead on logistics and budgeting for Emerging Changemakers and Camp LEAD.
Alumni & Social Media Support:
Assist with alumni engagement efforts and contribute to mission-aligned content creation and communications.
Facilitation & Youth Engagement:
Skilled in leading interactive lessons and building relationships with middle school youth from diverse backgrounds.
Curriculum & Instructional Design:
Experience designing and adapting developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and anti-bias educational activities.
Program & Event Management:
Strong organizational skills; able to manage logistics, coordinate events or trips, and juggle multiple priorities.
Team Leadership:
Ability to lead and support teams, including volunteers or part-time facilitators; supervisory experience preferred.
Communication & Collaboration:
Excellent communicator with a team-oriented mindset; skilled at engaging families, educators, and partners.
Technical & Administrative Proficiency:
Comfortable with data tracking, budgeting, Google Workspace, and creating basic outreach materials. Bachelor’s degree required (B.A. or B.S.); degrees in education, social work, public health, or related fields preferred Candidates with or pursuing advanced degrees (e.g., MSW, MPH, M.Ed.) are strongly encouraged to apply Demonstrated experience facilitating programs for middle and high school students, especially around identity, leadership, or social justice Strong, working knowledge of minority identities, systemic inequity, and social justice movements Familiarity with
LEAD STL
programming or similar youth development/leadership models is a plus Commitment to social justice, youth leadership, and equity-centered education Availability for some weekend and evening programs and occasional travel Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Time Commitment:
Full Time Salaried (Exempt) Must be available to work 9 Sunday afternoons, three weekend retreats, and travel for a 3-day long-distance trip to Chicago in August for the Emerging Changemakers Program. Some evening availability will also be needed for student interviews, volunteer opportunities, and other events.
