began as a partnership between the Black and Jewish communities to foster empathy, understanding, and leadership among high school students. By 2009, the organization expanded to include youth of all racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, deepening the impact and inclusivity of its programs. Today, LEAD STL equips middle and high school students with the knowledge, skills, and relationships to become agents of positive change. Through immersive experiences and courageous conversations about racism, antisemitism, and other forms of injustice, we empower young people to challenge inequity and lead with empathy—transforming their schools, communities, and the future of our region. We work to eradicate oppression in a divisive world by: Developing leaders and changemakers Connecting youth via immersive educational programming Building cross-cultural understanding through empathy and humility Welcoming diverse allies & partners The LEAD Immersive School Partnership is a year-long experience for high school students where our staff will equip students with tools and leadership skills to understand and identify inequity, and prepare them to “Stand up, Speak out, and Take action.” Students complete workshops with increased understanding of subject matter and commitment to sustained action and equity. The work has as its vision in “the head, hand and heart,” centering on 1) Cultural Competence; 2) Critical Consciousness; and 3) Service and Leadership.

staff facilitate program curriculum, lead students on immersive experiences, and build meaningful relationships with them. The Co-Lead Facilitator is expected to communicate program updates and reminders by email and attend and co-lead facilitation for all programming, arriving beforehand to set up for events and greet students, and remaining afterwards to ensure every student is picked up and speaks with parents/guardians as needed. Serve as a

staff representative and co-leader of the school program, including assisting in managing program communications, directing LEAD team during programs, speaking with parents/guardians, and addressing day-of logistics. Assist in handling all program day-of logistics, including connecting with site partners or speakers, arriving early to set up, ensuring every student has been picked up, ensuring the site is left as it was found, and communicating with Executive Director if needed. Prioritize connecting with students, making sure that the majority of time at programs is spent speaking with them and building a working relationship with each participant. Learn LEAD STL’s School program curriculum, including attending orientation training. Facilitate programming to students, including engaging students in presentations, activities, and discussions on challenging topics. Lead students in large group, small group, and 1-on-1 conversations, as well as in journaling prompts. Collaborate with the facilitation team on plans for each program, including creating agendas, deciding team roles, and brainstorming ideas for sessions. Take responsibility for each student’s health and safety during all programming, including on field trips. Excellent program management and team management skills. Strong public speaking and facilitation skills. Demonstrated comfort and interest in working with high school students. Ability to develop strong 1-on-1 relationships with high school students. Ability to multitask, problem-solve, be flexible, and handle high-pressure situations. Excellent organization and communication skills. Team player who looks for ways to contribute and meet the group’s needs. Access to reliable transportation. Criminal and child abuse background checks are required if hired Familiarity with working with high school students. Experience leading and coordinating high school programming. Knowledge of Black history, culture, and identity; Jewish history, culture, and identity; social justice movements (experience with

Time Commitment:
Programming occurs one Sunday a month September ’25 through May ’26 and as well as: 3 weekend retreats, St. Louis Journey, and Graduations & Courageous Conversations Event. Facilitators are also expected to attend an orientation prior to the start of the program
