Position Overview The Brain Injury Association of Missouri (BIA-MO) is a statewide non-profit organization. Our Mission is to reduce the incidence of brain injury; to promote acceptance, independence and productivity of persons with brain injury; and to support their families, caregivers and the community. The intent of this in-office, professional position is to create better futures for survivors of brain injury and families through support, education, recreation and legislative advocacy. The BIA-MO Program Associate is responsible for direct-service and education for persons with brain injury, family members, professionals, and communities.

This includes:
  • Providing Resource Facilitation for survivors of brain injury, family members and professionals.
  • Working with Support Group Facilitators and Members.
  • Initiating, implementing and managing details for programs of support, education and recreation.
  • Ensuring accurate program outreach by providing details, updating messaging, and managing timeline for support, education, and recreational programs.
  • Completing computer and clerical tasks to implement programs of direct-service, education and recreation.
  • Following and updating established procedures and timelines for effective and efficient implementation of direct-service, education and recreational programs.

Job responsibilities are to be achieved through initiating, implementing, and managing established procedures for tasks associated with support, educational, and recreational programs. BIA-MO relies on fast-paced, high volume completion of tasks for fulfillment of our Mission. Frequency and volume of responsibilities vary by program, since some are ongoing and others are held once per year. Additional services may be added as opportunities arise. Position Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (Social Work, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Nursing, Therapy, Communication or similar major) or equivalent work experience. Excellent computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Publisher experience helpful. Minimum three years of experience in direct-service, counseling, case management or office environment.

Personal qualities:

highly organized, detail oriented, self-starter, good problem-solver, results-focused, good written and verbal communication skills, excellent proofreader, able to manage several projects simultaneously, team player, work independently, and reliable. Survivors of brain injury are a high-risk health population. To reduce the risk of COVID transmission to survivors and their families, BIA-MO staff must maintain full vaccination from COVID. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. for organizing, packing, loading, unloading, and transporting material for educational, recreational and other programs, as well as assistance with other situations that may arise. Program Associate will work in-person at the Brain Injury Association of Missouri office located in St. Louis County, zip code 63146, with easy access to major highways. Salary and Benefits $35,000 – $45,000 annual salary. Two weeks paid time off for sick leave or personal time off, after successful completion of six-month probationary employment period. Regular Hours Monday – Friday, 8:45 am – 5:00 pm, with 30 minutes paid time for lunch. Health benefit premium allowance of up to $100 per month paid directly to insurance provider or payee.
