About the Position
The individual selected for this position will perform a variety of duties: 1) Develops, manages, and coordinates environmental programs within the Basin Management & Non-point Source Branch. 2) Supervises projects, teams, and/or staff to complete the work of the Basin Management & Non-point Source Branch 3) Serve as the Basin Coordinator for the Pearl River, Big Black River, and South Independent Streams drainage basins. 4) Manage sub-grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, and program budgets. 5) Direct stakeholder outreach and communication efforts with resource agency partners (local, state, and federal agencies, IHL, NGO, and SMEs) participating in the Basin Management Approach. 6) Develops and manages watershed implementation and education/outreach projects funded through Section 319 grants. 7) Coordinates resource agency partners to build consensus, direct funds, identify watershed priorities, leverage resources, identify opportunities to reduce impacts from non-point source pollution. 8) Effectively performs special duties as directed. This is a Non-State, TIME-LIMITED (14) position.

Candidate needs to adapt quickly to situations, identify problems and propose solutions, and effectively communicate with resource agency partners. Can embrace new ideas and work effectively both independently and in a team environment. Has good writing and computer skills. Effective use of adaptive management to prioritize work and respond to needs of partners. Ability to interact with partners and stakeholders, manage projects, oversee actions of sub-grantees, and coordinate work of large inter-agency teams.
