POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the workof the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communitythrough youth development, healthy living and socialresponsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high qualityYMCA child care program(s).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Manages, directsand coordinates the preschool childcare program. Ensures highquality program and establishes new program activities. Expandsprogram within the community in accordance with strategic andoperating plans.2. Keeps current with innovation and changes in thefield, chooses curriculum and assessment tools for early educationprograms, trains staff and ensures the implementation of thedesignated curriculum, screening and assessment tools3. Recruits,hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel andvolunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.4.Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position.
Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees arecollected. Supports and budgets for healthy eating throughcoaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality5. Assurescompliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relateto program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate.
Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety proceduresfollowed.6. Provides for the upkeep of assigned program facilitiesand equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthyliving.7. Develops and maintains relationships with state childcarelicensing agency, school administration, parent groups and otherorganizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Respondsto all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in atimely manner.8. Provides staff leadership for annual fund-raisingcampaign and committees as assigned.9. Maintains properrecords/department files.10. Organizes dedicated events forparents. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.11. Coordinatesand/or attends all appropriate association-wide childcaretrainings; coordinates early learning trainings12. Assists withProgram Committee meetings.13. Assists in the marketing anddistribution of program information.14. Compiles programstatistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of andparticipation in program.15. Communicates regularly with assignedBranch Executives and Child Care Directors/Coordinators regardingEarly Education Programs16. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field orequivalent.2. One to two years related experience preferred, as acoordinator or supervisor of childcare programs.3. Minimum agerequirements may apply; for example, minimum age of 21 (define).4.Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of:
Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with ProgramVolunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.5.Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards (if any) andcompletion of YMCA program specific certifications (list).6.Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from allsocial and economic segments of the community.7.
