About the Position
This position is located with the MS Division of Medicaid in the Picayune Regional Office. If you are recommended for hire or promotion, you will be required to submit proof of the possession of the credentials (i.e. license, certificate, official transcripts) that you listed on your State of Mississippi Application. Division of Medicaid has the authority to verify that the information recorded on your application is true and correct. The Benefit Program Specialist actively assists customers/beneficiaries throughout the process of applying for and ongoing coverage of Medicaid benefits. Specialists must gather, review, and investigate beneficiary information and determine if an approval for Medicaid is possible, based on Medicaid policies. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: accurately entering client data in the computer system; reading and comprehending the policy manual and obtaining a general working knowledge of Medicaid policies and programs; keeping abreast of policy updates and changes; assisting clients with questions and concerns as they come in or call into the office; assist with training of new office staff; must be deadline oriented and organized; and utilize reports for timely maintenance of assigned applications and caseloads. •This is a non state service,time-limitied position with The Mississippi Division of Medicaid.•What you’ll need to be Successful
Background in customer service. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work to meet assigned deadlines. Reading and comprehending policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years of experience. For the Division of Medicaid, an Associate’s Degree and 2-3 years of experience.
