Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include: Qualified Professional must have a four-year degree in a human service field and two years of experience or a four-year degree in other fields with four years of experience or hold a license in a human service profession. A graduate of a college or university with a Master’s degree in a Human Service field preferred.

Responsibilities of the Qualified Professional include:
Assists with Staff Hiring and Training

  • Trains and in services direct care staff on new and changing programs to ensure correct and timely implementation.

Provides training in select components of Modular and Survival training and select aspects of Home Manager training. Ensures responsible hiring, promotion, progressive discipline and termination procedures are implemented according to company policy and state regulations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training direct reports; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; motivating, disciplining and promoting team performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Manages Various Clinical Positions

  • Directly supervises employees generally consisting of Home Managers, QPs, Program Managers, Vocational Coordinators, Business Managers, Nurses, Psychologist/Behavior Analyst, Dietician, and clinical consultants
    Assists with Financial Management
  • Monitors budgetary costs and expenditures associated with the business operations of program activity.
    Assists Professional Staff with Various Tasks
  • Works closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and provide feedback, standardize procedures and expedite Person Centered Plan implementation. Incumbents are expected to provide coverage for shortages of direct support personnel but while doing so continue to be responsible for their management duties
    Assists with People Supported Health and Safety
  • Conducts and supervises formal investigations into incident/allegations of people supported abuse, neglect, exploitation or other circumstances that may present risk to people supported safety and health.

Participates in the Human Rights committee, Quarterly drug review, meetings with Local Management Entities (LMEs), community and area mental health councils including school systems as appropriate.
Coordinates Progress Assessments and Reviews

  • Assess progress by completing reviews, determining the appropriateness of programs and by recommending changes as appropriate. Performs various assessments; mealtime, environmental and zone monitoring. Writes and reviews program progress for accuracy so that documentation of services rendered can be submitted to area authorities for reimbursement.
    Performs Qualified Professional Responsibilities
  • Spends time on a regular basis at the location where services are being performed.

That means regular visits in residential homes including each shift to ensure policy, procedures and program data are in place and being implemented appropriately. Ensures all aspects of the residential activity, including the appearance of the home, leisure materials, cleanliness and adequate staffing, documentation, etc. are operating smoothly. Practices universal medical precautions by understanding and utilizing personal protective and safety equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Reviews and maintains people supported incident reports, charts, funds, benefits and billing

Job Requirements:

Graduate of a college or university with a Master’s degree in a Human Service field preferred. Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a Human Service field
One year of full-time Post-bachelor’s degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the populations served.
