This person will be responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing all aspects of the Big Futures program with a focus on college and career readiness and post-secondary success. This position will also include match support responsibilities for one school-based program, providing consistent coaching and engagement for youth, volunteers, and families. This position will report to the Vice President of Programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities College and Career Programming Strategically develop and communicate a year-round calendar of high-quality match activities, events, and education training focused on college and career readiness for youth 8th grade-age 21. Build and maintain partnerships with organizations such as YearUp, Charlotte Works, Urban League, and local colleges to provide opportunities such as job shadowing, internships, college visits, and professional development. Lead signature initiatives including the Bosse Scholarship process and the annual BBBSCC Graduation Program. Develop a toolkit of college and career resources for youth grades 8-12 and recent high school graduates. Design and manage a digital community of practice for alumni to network and share resources. Maintain and update the BBBSCC alumni database with relevant post-secondary outcomes. Match Support for Assigned Elementary/Middle School School-Based Program Conduct and document regular outreach to youth, parents, and volunteer mentors to provide coaching, encourage relationship development, and support match satisfaction and longevity. Monitor match relationships to ensure safety, alignment with BBBS standards, and growth of mentoring connection. Facilitate on-site school engagement activities. Identify and address at-risk matches through early intervention and problem-solving techniques. Maintain timely and accurate match documentation in Matchforce/Salesforce system. Attend and support on-site events and workshops related to the school’s match program, ensuring youth and mentors have access to meaningful experiences and support. General Program Responsibilities Evaluate new and existing programming for effectiveness and client satisfaction. Collaborate with Program Directors to ensure appropriate staffing and alignment of programming. Write and distribute a monthly e-newsletter to Bigs and Parents featuring college and career resources and upcoming events. Coordinate with the Program Events and Education Manager to avoid scheduling conflicts and enhance programming efficiency. Assist with developing the annual budget and maintaining financial documentation for program-related expenses. Represent BBBSCC at recruitment, partnership, and community events as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, preferred focus in social work, education, or youth development. Minimum 3 years of experience in youth programming, college/career readiness, or mentoring programs. Familiarity with school-based programming and/or match support preferred. Skills and Knowledge Strong relationship-building skills with diverse populations. Experience in event planning, youth engagement, and partnership development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Matchforce/Salesforce, Canva, and Eventbrite. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with high school curriculum and post-secondary planning. Work Environment & Schedule Hybrid work environment: in-office, remote, and on-site at events and/or designated school. Must have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and meet insurance requirements. Must be available up to 2 Saturdays per month and for evening events as needed.
