Position Summary Girls on the Run Greater Charlotte is seeking a passionate, creative, and driven new team member to join the council as the Program Development Manager. The Program Development Manager is an influential advocate for improving the lives and opportunities of youth, with a proven ability to manage and grow programs that drive meaningful community impact. This position is responsible for identifying and cultivating new opportunities to expand the reach and accessibility of Girls on the Run Greater Charlotte programs and plays a pivotal role in shaping the experience of Girls on the Run across the program for participants, families, coaches, volunteers, and site liaisons. This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-centered professional eager to help build strong communities and create transformative opportunities for girls across the Greater Charlotte region. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Program Development + Community Outreach Lead the implementation of the Girls on the Run strategic program development plan, with clear goals for expanding reach, increasing impact, and ensuring accessibility for all participants. Develop and effectively execute targeted outreach strategies to cultivate new program sites and engage new communities with the program. Build strong, mission-aligned relationships with schools, community centers, and youth-serving organizations to foster sustainable program collaborations. Represent Girls on the Run Greater Charlotte at community and school events to expand the organization’s community presence. Provide proactive support to new and existing sites, ensuring adherence to program standards and policies. Regularly review and enforce site policies and procedures, implementing improvements as needed. Critically assess program development and implementation efforts, identifying opportunities to enhance program quality and operational efficiency . Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and manage program budget, ensuring resources are strategically allocated to support program priorities and growth. Volunteer Engagement + Training Support volunteer coach recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies, including implementing coach appreciation initiatives that strengthen the overall volunteer experience. Provide ongoing support to equip volunteer coaches, including facilitating coach training, reinforcing policies, best practices and resources to help them successfully deliver Girls on the Run programming. Organizational Support Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate the preparation and distribution of curriculum materials including coach boxes, coach manuals, and program equipment. Support the planning and execution of key council events, including the end-of-season 5K and sneaker soirée and other large council events. Partner with the team to align program development and outreach strategies with organizational goals, identifying new opportunities to enhance program reach and mission impact. Qualities + Qualifications 3+ years’ experience in program management, with a proven track record of driving growth Experience in a youth-serving organization or in the K-12 programs space a plus! Driven by potential, with a keen ability to identify fresh opportunities and implement plans for activation Motivating and authentic relationship builder.
Supportive team member, passionate about collaboration and using personal expertise to improve and support the work of other staff and volunteers.
Strong initiative and independent work ethic, ability to handle multiple tasks and exceed goals.
Agile and creative, with a strength for identifying ways to evolve approaches and create new strategies.
Ability to use data and technology to enhance productivity, communication, and engagement.
Excellent customer service skills, with a strong emphasis on supporting volunteers and participants.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. The Program Development Manager position is a full-time exempt, salaried role offering a compensation range of $53,000
