The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with individuals with disabilities and will be responsible for providing support and assistance in various settings. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other professionals. The Program Specialist will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals through effective program implementation and support. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized programs tailored to meet the needs of clients with disabilities. Provide direct support and assistance in daily living activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to facilitate understanding and cooperation. Assist in behavioral health interventions, utilizing strategies that promote positive outcomes. Collaborate with social workers, educators, and other professionals to coordinate services for clients. Provide childcare support as needed, ensuring a nurturing environment for children. Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) when necessary to enhance communication with clients who are deaf or hard of hearing. Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and program effectiveness. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members. Background in special education or caregiving is highly desirable. Familiarity with behavioral health practices and direct support services is a plus. Ability to assist clients in various settings while promoting independence and dignity.
