Description of Work This is a repost and previous applicants must reapply in order to be considered. This position with NCDOT offers full State Benefits , competitive salaries and many career development opportunities. This position will work in the Division 14 Office in Jackson County. Employee will perform accounts payable functions which involve specialized funds of considerable size and complexity. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Business Officer and is reviewed for conformance to state and departmental policies and procedures through conference, records, and reports. The accounts and records maintained by the Program Coordinator III are subject to periodic review by the State Auditors and the Budget Division. This position assists the Business Officer in the maintenance and reconciliation of the fixed assets and physical inventory. Employee in this position will need general knowledge of the purchasing process as well as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and SAP software. Employee in this position acts as Division backup BSIP Coordinator and Security Coordinator. Employee may perform other duties as required. Successful applicants must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form. Accounts payable experience is beneficial. General knowledge of the proper management of fixed assets and proper inventory control procedures is also beneficial. Applicant should have the ability to prepare standard financial statements and reports. The applicant should have the ability to identify and correct routine and recurring financial problems, referring more complex problems to a higher level. The applicant should have the ability to verify accounting documents and forms for accuracy and completeness. The applicant should have the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely in oral and written form. Knowledge of basic mathematical computation is needed. The program area for this position includes one or more of the following: experience in accounts payable/receivable and/or working knowledge of fixed assets or inventory management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following: Experience in accounting principles and practices
Experience working with accounts payable invoice deadlines and time sensitive documentation
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
