Neighborhood Stabilization Program Coordinator Preserving Home, Inc. Cary, NC 27513 Organization Description Preserving Home, Inc. is based in Cary, North Carolina and serves as a regional leader in affordable housing preservation. Preserving Home, Inc. builds strategic partnerships with public, private, and philanthropic institutions focused on preserving safe, healthy, efficient homes for our neighbors across central North Carolina and beyond. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Preserving Home, Inc. works with individuals and communities to understand the challenges they are facing, then works diligently to convene and construct the resource system needed to address them. Summary of Position The purpose of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program Coordinator position is to serve as coordinator for the Fayetteville Street Corridor Neighborhood Stabilization Partnership in Durham, NC. Preserving Home, Inc’s is partnering with The City of Durham (the City) and Hayti Promise Community Development Corporation (HPCDC) to support property owners on the historic Fayetteville Street corridor struggling with vacant properties in need of repair. The goal of this project is to address exterior repairs that are active code violations and helping prepare owners to get these properties back into productive use in support of the community. This is a role that will involve significant coordination of stakeholders and community partners. The project is expected to take 18 months and will be completed by December 31, 2026. The Coordinator will join a professional, talented, and compassionate team working to preserve safe, healthy homes for Triangle homeowners in need of support, and will also work directly and frequently with Preserving Home Inc’s partners at the City and HPCDC. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily implementation activities of the Fayetteville Street Corridor Neighborhood Stabilization program team.
- Facilitate communications within the program team, including, but not limited to, the City, HPCDC and Preserving Home, Inc.
- Engage with landowners who are participating in the program and assist with questions and concerns from owners, community members and other stakeholders.
- Support contracting work in partnership with Preserving Home’s contracting team, and provide regular updates to the team and community.
- Track the program budget and coordinate regular reporting activities to the City and other stakeholders as needed.
- Serve as primary point of contact for project related questions, and work proactively with partners to address community concerns compassionately.
- Represent and “champion” the program throughout the Durham community.
- Other program-related tasks as assigned Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
- At least three (5) years of professional experience in a direct service role in operations, human services, client relations, or similar administrative position. Up to 2 years college level education may be considered equivalent to experience.
- Experience with residential housing rehabilitation, home repair and/or historic property preservation is desired.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Desire to work directly with vulnerable populations
- Desire and ability to interact and communicate with clarity, empathy and compassion with clients, vendors, partners and staff
- Ability to represent the program effectively, professionally, and compassionately in the community and with individual stakeholders.

- Ability to prioritize critical tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, digest information quickly, and meet essential deadlines

- Experience Microsoft Office Suite with strong Word and Excel skills is needed.
Experience with Salesforce program and Google Apps desirable. Other Requirements The Coordinator must have reliable transportation to Preserving Home’s office. A valid NC Driver’s License is preferred, and occasional travel throughout the multi-county service area should be expected. Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time (40 hrs/wk), hourly position. The initial program contract that will be supported by this position will end December 31st, 2026. However, Preserving Home expects additional opportunities to emerge that will provide the possibility of a permanent role with the organization beyond the contract term. Compensation will be negotiated commensurate with experience.
