Lead as a Senior Manager in Software Engineering at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., enhancing the efforts of our Developer Experience Center of Excellence (DevEx CoE) – a collaborative effort to drive the future of how we build software by removing barriers to productivity, fostering collaboration, and accelerating innovation .
What Will You Do?
Work across our engineering teams to optimize processes and tooling, leverage emerging AI capabilities, and ensure quality and security while minimizing maintenance overhead. Lead the charge in crafting a world-class engineering environment that prioritizes innovation, automation, and developer-centric process optimizations to accelerate delivery and drive greater impact!
Program Management
Own and expand a standardized SPDLC modernization roadmap passionate about AI-augmented automation, intelligent tooling, full-stack developer enablement, quality improvement, and security.
Lead the development and evaluation of brand new tools to validate groundbreaking changes across the development lifecycle.
Develop and implement measurable metrics to track progress and the impact of developer experience initiatives, driving data-informed decisions.
Talent Development
Define and implement strategies to build future-ready developer capabilities through targeted upskilling programs.
Drive initiatives to attract, retain, and engage top developer talent by improving their overall experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with IT, R D, and vendor management teams to develop a standardized and streamlined developer experience across all phases of the SDLC.
Actively engage with senior leadership to align program objectives with broader business goals.
How Will You Get Here?
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree or equivalent experience (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Technology Management) preferred.
Program Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Experience
8+ years of experience in program management, focusing on software development, tools, and platforms.
Proven track record of leading centers of excellence, digital transformation programs, or similar initiatives.
Deep understanding of developer workflows, tools (e.g., GitHub, Jira), and automation technologies (e.g., AI/ML-based solutions).
Experience leading talent development initiatives within technology organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive experience with SPDLC processes, developer tools, and standard methodologies to improve developer efficiency.
Outstanding communication skills to engage cross-functional teams, vendors, and developers.
Ability to influence and encourage collaborators at all levels, from developers to executives.
Demonstrated ability in implementing program evaluations and driving continuous improvements.
