Job Description

USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app Summer Staff Assistants connects the academic program and community learning environment and mentorship. The Summer Staff assistant lead a staff team in creating and maintaining a positive, productive, and safe living-learning environment for students and staff. They ensure inclusive learning environments that allow each learner to reach their full potential, and leverage resources that contribute to student growth and development, learning, and well-being. The Summer Staff Assistants are responsible for working closely within departments and with department heads to develop and implement engaging curriculum that provides pathways to success for heterogeneous groups of students. Duties/Responsibilities Assisting residential administrative team with operation of the program Maintaining positive and supportive team environment Attending and contributing to all training, staff meetings, opening and closing ceremonies, and evaluation sessions Monitoring program-wide compliance with KSC and UBP guidelines Create, plan, and manage program-wide activities and supervise student sign-in/out processes Complete other programmatic duties as assigned Attend regular supervisory meetings Co-developing, planning, and teaching all assigned classes, and interdisciplinary project-based course Provide learner feedback In collaboration with TRIO Mentors, attending to student learning needs Attending lunch and supervising students Documenting student progress and report concerns Supporting and supervising students in daily activities and academic classes Providing learner feedback and documenting student progress Supervising and ensuring the safety of program participants throughout program activities on and off campus Responding positively and proactively to student issues as they arise and reporting in a timely manner Completing end of summer evaluations for students in courses by deadlines and submitted to supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

Current enrollment in a college degree program with a minimum of 75 credits at the college level, or recent completion of a degree academic program subject areas: biological sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, or Writing/language arts Enthusiasm, integrity, leadership, and self-responsibility Ability to design and implement appropriate curriculum given broad goals Knowledge of innovative and flexible teaching methods Ability to establish strong rapport with economically and culturally disadvantaged youth Interpersonal skills, sensitivity to the needs of the disadvantaged, and commitment to the goals of the Upward Bound Programs All offers of employment will be contingent upon a successful completion of a
