Job Description

Overview Works closely with the Chair, Director and the Program Manager to the Chair to ensure the smooth operation of the Department of Surgery (DOS) faculty affairs. This includes coordinating faculty searches/offers, new appointments, reappointments, and requests for clinical privileges. Responsibilities Works closely with HR on all faculty searches and new hires. Tracks all faculty searches, prepares offer letters and follows all appointment activity. Works closely with administrative partners in all 9 sections within the DOS to ensure that current faculty data is up to date and accurate for over 500 faculty members. Continually updates and maintains faculty database. Works closely with the Geisel School of Medicine, the VA Medical Center, MHMH and DHMC representatives to ensure that all faculty are privileged, credentialed and have current appointments. Collaborates with representatives in the southern region of NH, as well as out of state regions, to accurately account for all adjunct faculty. Process offer letters, privilege templates and observation requests. Cross covers with the Program Manager to ensure all aspects of administrative coverage for the Department of Surgery is taken care of. Helps to manage the Practice Manager calendars and is a resource and administrative support for them. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree with 3 years of experience (at least 2 of which are supporting an executive or comparable level position), or the equivalent in education and experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, FileMaker Pro and most social media platforms required. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required. Exceptional proofreading skills required. Ability to work independently, assess priorities and organize workload required. Must have the ability to take initiative, but also coordinate in a team. Must have ability to recognize, set and fulfill high standards and have strong attention to detail. Required Licensure/Certifications None
