Young Women’s Leadership Camp Counselor 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Manchester, NH 03102 Girls Inc. of New Hampshire Young Women’s Leadership (YWL) is an 8 week summer program that engages rising 6th, 7th, and th grade girls. This program will help develop leadership, problem solving, and decision-making skills all while learning to be productive citizens in the community.
Activities include:
job shadowing opportunities, horseback riding, college tours, beach day, hiking, picnics, career fair, swimming, team building, internships, community service projects & much more. Camp is held at the St. Anselm College campus. Campers are transported from Manchester and Nashua centers. There are two positions available – one will start in Nashua and one start in Manchester. Responsibilities Deliver an age appropriate and appealing curriculum for Young Women’s Leadership on a daily basis that is intentional and compensatory and includes components of Girls Inc. curricula. Provide direction, instruction, and motivation to girls. Responsible for the implementation of Young Women’s Leadership, including field trips, visiting days, guest speakers, and special events. Collaborate with community partners to facilitate off-site activities Provide for the safety and appropriate behavior of participants in activities, assisting girls in problem solving and conflict resolution and acting as a role model for appropriate behavior. Transport participants in an assigned Girls Inc. vehicle to field trips and other off-site activities.
Requirements :
Must be at least 21 years of age Associate’s degree in ECE, bachelor’s degree in education or recreation, or a total of 12 credits in ECE, human growth and development, education or recreation, or experience working with children totaling 2000 hours Previous experience working with school-age children – preferably middle-school age Clean driving record and valid driver’s license (will be required to drive agency passenger bus) Position is seasonal, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Camp begins June 26th with one week of training prior to camp. Training and planning days prior to start of camp.
