???? Cranford, NJ | ???? Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM
Are you passionate about helping individuals with disabilities build skills, confidence, and community connections? Community Access Unlimited (CAU) is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Instructor to support members of our Day Program in reaching their goals for independence and personal growth.
???? General Description
As a Life Skills Instructor, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting adults with disabilities through meaningful daily activities, work training, and community-based experiences — all while ensuring their safety, well-being, and inclusion.
???? Education / Experience
High School Diploma required. A background in education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued. Preference given to candidates with prior experience in employment services and/or providing direct support. Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
???? Responsibilities
Assist in implementing Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
Complete all contract requirements for programming
Ensure members’ health, safety, and medication administration
Assist in developing work opportunities for members
Train and assist with daily life skills
Encourage and support community participation
Maintain appropriate staff-member relationships
Participate in Periodic Service Reviews and quality assurance
Support program financial management practices
Cooperate with Agency, legal authorities, and DHS during any inspections or investigations
Ensure compliance with all background checks and screenings (fingerprinting, CARI, drug testing, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned
