Before & After School and Summer Program Watervliet Civic Chest, Inc. 102 14th Street, Watervliet, NY 12189 Position Summary The Coordinator is responsible for developing, facilitating, and overseeing the Watervliet Civic Center before & after school program and summer recreation program including the supervision, guidance, and stability for program continuity. Their responsibility is to focus on running a safe, quality, and enriching program that meets the needs of both children and the families it serves. The role ensures program excellence, staff leadership, and alignment with the Watervliet Civic Center’s mission of youth development and social responsibility. Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee the operations of the Before & After School Program.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, supervision, and training of staff.
  • Communicates closely with participant families.
  • Ensures the programs run in accordance with all local and state regulations.
  • Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete welfare of all children and staff.
  • Sets goals to develop strategies, and innovative programs.
  • Foster relationships with local community groups, participate in community events to raise awareness, and support Watervliet Civic Center fundraising efforts.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as needed.
  • Collect payments from program participants.
  • Provide support to the Executive Director
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director Minimum Requirements A degree in Education , Recreation or Social Work, or related field from a recognized university is preferred.

5 years experience in child care setting. 1 year of supervisory experience. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Proficient computer skills with experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, program software, and social media preferred. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
