Program Coordinator for the newly established
AU /SEIU 1199
mental health counseling program partnership through the Career Pathways Training (CPT) program grant. This is a full-time, grant-funded position that will be in place from June 2025 through June 2027. The position also includes a faculty appointment as either a senior instructor (if master’s qualified) or clinical assistant professor (if doctorally qualified) in the AUNY Counseling Program. The

Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
AUNY /SEIU 1199
mental health counseling program partnership through the CPT program. This exciting new partnership builds upon AU’s existing mental health counseling program that is delivered in the NYC metropolitan area in partnership with the Center for Integrated Training and Education (CITE). The program coordinator will report directly to the Dean of the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies and will serve as the day-to-day program manager for the
AUNY /SEIU 1199
mental health counseling program cohort. This is a weekend-based graduate program for working professionals with courses being held on Saturdays and Sundays. As such, the program coordinator will need to be available on Saturday and Sunday for the duration of the position. The program coordinator will also need to be available during the week, including some evenings for virtual office hours. This is a hybrid position, with in-person requirements during the weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and remote work during the week. The position will include traveling between program sites in midtown Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn as well as the CITE office in Brooklyn Heights.
Salary:
$65,000 annually
Essential Responsibilities:
Overseeing the program course schedule Coordination of program instructors Coordination of course registration for students Serving as the first point of contact for student questions Monitoring each student’s progress in the program to ensure satisfactory academic progress is being made toward program completion and making appropriate referrals when necessary Coordination with the Registrar and Student Accounts office to ensure registration lists are sent promptly to

for tuition payments from the CPT program grant Coordinating with the mental health counseling internship coordinator Coordination of the degree conferral application and approval process with the Office of the Registrar Coordinating communication among AU, CITE, and
SEIU 1199
to ensure the program is delivered effectively and efficiently with a high degree of fidelity for its students Participation in the planning and delivery of program faculty orientations and meetings as necessary Participation in the planning and attendance at the AUNY Commencement Ceremony Other duties as assigned by the
Dean of Graduate and Continuing Studies Qualifications:
Minimum:
A master’s degree in counseling or applied psychology Prior experience teaching in a graduate counseling or applied psychology program
Preferred:
A doctoral degree in counseling or applied psychology Prior experience teaching in a graduate mental health counseling program Familiarity with the NY State mental health counseling licensing requirements
