Full Job Description Position Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate, bilingual Tenant Services Coordinator to join our property management team . This position plays a critical role in supporting tenants—particularly those with vouchers or coming from shelters—by ensuring smooth lease signings and renewals, addressing tenant concerns, and acting as a liaison with social service agencies. The ideal candidate brings a background in social work or psychology and has experience navigating NYC’s housing support systems, including programs like CityFHEPS, HASA, and Section 8 . This is a field-based and office-based role, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to advocate for tenants while supporting property operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Tenant Engagement & Support:

Assist tenants with lease signings, renewals, and general onboarding into the property. Provide support to tenants facing housing-related challenges and help connect them with appropriate resources. Act as a trusted representative for both the property management company and tenant concerns.

Program Coordination & Agency Liaison:

Communicate and coordinate with NYC agencies such as

HRA , DSS

, and nonprofit providers to ensure tenants receive timely rent assistance and benefits. Guide tenants through the process of applying for or maintaining eligibility in housing programs like CityFHEPS, HASA, and Section 8 . Stay up to date with changing program requirements to ensure compliance.

Tenant Relations & Conflict Resolution:

Respond promptly to tenant concerns and facilitate conflict resolution between tenants and management. Foster respectful, clear communication between all parties and ensure tenant issues are addressed in a timely, professional manner.

Administrative & Compliance Support:

Maintain organized records of tenant interactions, leases, agency documentation, and compliance information. Prepare internal reports for management regarding tenant engagement and program status. Support the property management team with administrative duties related to tenant relations and subsidy compliance.

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience working with housing programs or vulnerable tenant populations. Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Strong knowledge of NYC housing programs and benefits, including CityFHEPS, HASA, and Section 8 . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in case management, crisis response, or supportive housing settings. Familiarity with NYC housing rights and tenant protections. Strong organizational skills and comfort with tools like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
