Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Program Specialist or Senior to join our Energy Efficiency team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote. What does a Program Specialist or Senior do for us? They manage and/or create energy efficiency and/or demand response programs or other customer offerings. Their role includes program design, process development and system integration, coordination of marketing and communications, contract management, daily operations, payment processing, and reporting of results. A Senior Program Specialist also acts as the subject matter expert with comprehensive, specific, and progressive knowledge related to the program or area of discipline. A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Knowledge of:
Common computer applications such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint Energy efficiency terms and products Organizations that work with low-income customers as well as the issues that low-income customers face, specific to the industry A Senior Program Specialist will also have knowledge of: Regulatory and policy impacts to energy efficiency programs Skills in: Strong project management Interpersonal communication Clear and concise writing Organization Customer service In depth data analysis and reporting knowledge, including the ability to present program information effectively to internal and external audiences Program planning and development Issue resolution Ability to: Manage and/or develop programs, demonstrate greater responsibility, display polished presentation skills, and comprehend technical energy efficiency concepts Negotiate complex issues Develop third-party contracts A Senior Program Specialist will also have the ability to: Work both independently and on project teams Develop alternatives and evaluate their value and potential for meeting company needs Analyze large and/or complex datasets Prepare comprehensive written and oral reports of problems, alternatives, and recommendations
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Program Specialist Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, marketing, communications, or related field OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a related field
Experience:
3 years of experience in project or program management, including 2 years of experience in any of the following related fields: utility, customer service, science, engineering, or marketing
Preferred:
3years of work experience in utility industry, with a customer-related focus
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
Senior Program Specialist Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, marketing, communications, or related field OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
Master’s degree in a related field
Experience:
5 years of experience in project or program management, including 5 years of experience in any of the following related fields: utility, customer service, science, engineering, or marketing
Preferred:
5 years of work experience in utility industry, with a customer-related focus
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
Preferred:
Project Management Professionals Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. Position also requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop and squat, ascend / descend stairs, ladders, climb in to and out of vehicles; twist, kneel, balance; rarely crawl. Rarely lift 10 lbs. shoulder height and above; rarely lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. waist high and knee high; rarely use exertional force less than 50 lbs.; occasionally use two hands to carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and one hand to carry items weighing up to 25 lbs. Must be able to withstand confined spaces and heights. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
