QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold a master’s degree and NYS certification. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screen shot of their certifications. Candidates must have completed three years of approved and appropriate teaching and/or coaching experience. The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and demonstrate leadership and interpersonal communication skills with adults.

JOB SUMMARY

Oversight and coordination of all IB related activities including the PYP Exhibition, teacher training, program of inquiry and unit development, and student evaluation. The role of the IB PYP Coordinator is to plan and oversee the implementation and management of the program. Through coordination with teachers, administrators, and the IB regional office, the coordinator is responsible for the full delivery of the curriculum including documentation, reporting, analysis, and evaluation.

EXPERIENCE

: Experience and training in the Primary Years Program (PYP); previous experience as an IB coordinator preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Under the direction of the building principle, the responsibilities of the IB Program Coordinator will include but are not limited to the following: + Assume responsibility for the implementation and development of the PYP curriculum within the spirit of the school’s mission statement. + Ensuring that all IBO databases about the school are up to date and deadlines and procedures from IBO are met. + Serve as a member of the school’s Leadership Team helping to develop the strategic plan, leading the accreditation and review processes. + Initiate professional training programs that will enable the teaching staff to successfully introduce and develop the IB programs in their classroom successfully; the trainings will include professional learning communities, inter-disciplinary unit development, and current pedagogy and assessment practices. + Provide instructional leadership to individual teachers through mentoring, peer support, goal evaluations, and team-teaching opportunities. + Facilitate budgetary requests for training and curricular materials to the principal. + Collaboratively review and revise policies that are aligned with the values of Stanley Makowski ECC #99 and the IB; such policies will include language, assessment, inclusion, and academic honesty. + ATLs units, POI revisions, scope and sequence (pacing) documentation, assessment documentation, Exhibition guidelines, and the integration of transdisciplinary Ensure PYP requirements are met by developing + Implement and apply educational technology software and hardware inc
