NIA is seeking an experienced leader with a background in youth development, and an innovative team-builder with a collaborative, positive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide supervision and support to a caseload of multiple after-school programs Supervise, coach, and support assigned program directors Act as a liaison between programs and the NIA central office Assist as needed with meetings/training of program directors and staff Conduct regularly scheduled program site visits and observe activities to assess program quality Conduct additional site visits as needed, in response to program needs Substitute on site at assigned programs if Program Director is not available and a reasonable management plan cannot be put in place Evaluate program activity quality and provide support to ensure unit plans follow a scope and sequence to help build desired skills Ensure that programs operate according to all NIA, funder, and licensor regulations and standards Ensure assigned programs maintain valid School Age Child Care licenses, comply with licensor regulations, and act as needed in response to licensor visits and notes. As needed, be named as Director on program licenses Assist in conducting meetings with school principals, hosting VIP and funder site visits, and communicate on behalf of NIA with all outside agencies (funders, licensors, partners, etc.) Maintain a high level of professionalism, and adhere to all regulations, when responding to incidents and accidents that may occur at assigned programs Serve as a professional point of contact for school administrators and families if incidents or accidents occur Closely monitor online databases used by program funders (DYCD, Empire, Advantage) Submit program reports to funders, as necessary Respond to staff disciplinary matters in accordance with NIA policies and procedures Assist in identifying professional development needs and organizing training opportunities Conduct Program Director performance evaluations Assist with the interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding process for new program employees Meet with Budget Manager to review program budgets, advise on budget changes, and assist with monitoring spending Assist with the creation and approval of printed program materials (letters, flyers, etc.) Represent the NIA at professional conferences, school, and community events Use data to plan for continuous improvement of programs Assist with organization special events Participate in required professional development opportunities Perform other duties and tasks as deemed necessary by NIA Skills and Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelors degree is required. Degree related to education or youth development preferred. A minimum of 4 years of experience working with children in an educational setting is required 3-5 years of experience in an administrative capacity, managing programs and supervising staff, is preferred Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, and diplomacy skills required Collaborative spirit, flexible mindset, and professional demeanor are essential Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking Background knowledge of program structures and requirements (including SACC licensing requirements) Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Computer proficiency is necessary; familiarity with databases, such as DYCD Connect and YouthServices is a plus Willingness to attend organization and partner events, and ability to travel to multiple program sites throughout Brooklyn, and other boroughs of NYC (some evening work is required); valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle is a plus
