Summer Weekend Coordinator El Puente De Williamsburg Inc – 3.5 Brooklyn, NY Job Details Part-time | Seasonal $25 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Bilingual CPR Certification Management Mid-level Full Job Description The El Puente Cornerstone Leadership Centers are after-school youth & community development programs that focus on arts for social change, academic enrichment, and holistic leadership development for youth ages 6-21. It is part of a community organization that also conducts advocacy, organizing and health & wellness activities for the community. This program focuses on the integration of human rights consciousness and artistic development that allows its members to experience their creative potential while learning about social responsibility. The El Puente Cornerstone Leadership Centers are not drop-in centers, they are membership programs. El Puente’s membership Model requires youth to commit to active participation within a structure designed to meet their varied developmental needs. Membership is the foundation of its mentoring & youth development programs, a process rooted in the organization’s mission to nurture and inspire leadership for peace & justice. As a staff member of El Puente, the Summer Weekend Coordinator is expected to uphold and work within the mission, philosophy, and principles of the organization. She/he must become fully knowledgeable of the purpose, structure, and process of El Puente Membership. She/he must also work in tandem with other staff members to ensure the integrity of the Membership Process, the achievement of organizational membership goals, and to realize expected contractual outcomes.

Essential Job Functions:

Supervise overall programming facilities and staff during the weekend hours of operation. Facilitate intergenerational activities for the community. Recruit, Coordinate with and supervise Co-Locators (outside groups who use the space for community activities) and their activities Maintain Co-locator/Activity Leaders contact information and files (contracts and fingerprints) Coordinate outreach & enrollment for co-locators and activities (i.e. speaking at local schools, churches or community centers, flyering in the neighborhood, etc.) Assign new participants to classes and update class sign in sheets/rosters for Co-Locator, activity leaders and security. Coordinate events/performances (game tournaments, bingo, ceremonies, etc.) and document the activities and events. Be trained in CPR/RTE Troubleshooting ( room availability, special announcements, etc) Meet with Director bi-weekly and email Program Director Daily on program updates Reporting and documenting incident reports to Program Director and DYCD Making sure all safety procedures are in place Conducting extensive outreach to ensure space is appropriately utilized during weekends, working closely with neighborhood community offices.

Secondary Job Functions:

Clean and sanitize work space on a consistent basis such as but not limited to: Light Labor, picking up boxes, setting up spaces Flexibility in location of employment Usage of Personal hardware such as : Cellular phone

Computer Tablets Additionally:

Internet connection Interacts with: Program Directors, Line Staff, Senior Management

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and practice of youth development. Strong facilitation skills, working with youth and adults. Team player, but ability to work in a focused manner independently. Reliable and committed Currently in college/college graduate or with preferred experience. Bilingual preferred. Motivated and education-oriented.
