Full-Time, Exempt; 37.5 hours/week

Pay Rate:

$61k-$65k/year Summary Under the direct supervision of the Chief Program Officer, the Director of Youth Services is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and monitoring of the Youth Development department. Essential Job Duties Assigns and supervises youth program staff (e.g., after-school, summer, and teen programs). Supervises the coordination of all activities, ensuring each program meets program objectives. Provides external and internal monitoring of program activities, including budgets, staff goals and performance, data and fiscal activities, and contract compliance. Ensures accurate data input, data collection, and monitoring databases, including proficiency in systems such as Facility Application and Management System (FAMS). Ensures all supervisory actions are consistent with organizational policy at the program levels. Develops and oversees the submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports based on program objectives for local, regional and/or statewide requirements. Leads the development and improvement of new programs. Ensures contract compliance with regulatory bodies, including the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and the Department of Health (DOH). Develops procedural manuals, communication strategies, quality improvement processes, and data tracking mechanisms. Writes and maintains grants specific to youth services. Researches/analyzes information and implements solutions that impact the entire program. Other Job Duties Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Program Officer. Attends all meetings required by the agency and the Chief Program Officer. Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Highly organized with a keen eye for detail. Self-directed and organizationally aware team player; able to share information and collaborate with internal and external partners. Ability to think strategically, work collaboratively, and make informed decisions. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while adhering to deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Proficiency in using databases like FAMS for data tracking and compliance. Demonstrated ability to relate and interact with diverse youth and adults coming from different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Dedication to guiding principles of the organization, including a commitment to inclusion, equity, and accessibility. Able to work weekends and evening hours when necessary. Must possess the visual acuity to perform extensive reading, monitor staff and youth activities, and complete records. Must be able to travel as needed, frequently getting in and out of a car. Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Service Development, Sociology, Social Work or a related field and at least five (5) years’ experience working in a structured youth program, with at least three (3) years’ of managerial experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Education, Human Service Development, Sociology, Social Work or a related field and at least three (3) years’ experience working in a structured youth program, with at least two (2) years’ of managerial experience. Successful completion of employee criminal history review (fingerprinting). Successful completion of trainings mandated by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). Ability to receive clearance from the NY State Central Registry. Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation; must pass a driving background check.
