Before or After-School Description:

Making a difference in the lives of young people, the Scouting Program help youth become the leaders of tomorrow. Seeking high energy, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to implement Scouting programs. Program Coordinator will be assigned program sites to provide direct instruction to Scouts as they work on the core elements of Scouting. Scouts will develop a sense of good citizenship, character development and learn habits of good mental and physical health, while learning life skills via engaging activities.

Essential Functions:

Program site duties include but not limited to:

• Leading weekly meetings from program guide.
• Creating and maintaining a positive relationship with school officials and Scout’s families.
• Maintaining and submitting weekly attendance and advancement reports to Staff Leader.
• Maintaining a positive, safe, and warm learning environment. Candidates should be available primarily between 2:00pm
• 5:30pm, Monday
• Friday. Weekday mornings are available based on site needs. Office hours also available. Weekend hours are available based on program and camp opportunities. Staff will be given 1 hour of paid planning time each week in addition to 1.5 hours at each assigned site (program time is 1 hour). 4
• 15 hours are available each week and are dependent upon site availability, leadership needs and office assistance.

Candidates are required to have a reliable mode of transportation. Programs operate in Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, Yates, and Monroe Counties schools and youth serving organizations.

Rate:

$15.50

Required Qualifications:

• Must be over 18 to apply.
• Live in or driving distance from Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, Yates, and Monroe Counties.
• Prior experience working with youth.

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed while standing, sitting, walking and/or running.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weight.

Education:

• High School or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certifications:

• Driver’s License (Preferred) Summer Contracts will be awarded based on need and your availability.
