The After School Program Associate supports the Fieldston Lower and Fieldston Middle After School & Auxiliary Programs. This individual is responsible for regularly visiting classes, auditing program quality, monitoring student and staff attendance, and assisting the Director in managing daily operations.
The After School & Auxiliary Programs Department enriches the student experience at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School through dynamic offerings such as After School Programs, International Travel, Summer Camps, and a variety of Auxiliary Programs, including Driver’s Education, the Young Dancemakers Company, and Fieldston Robotics.
This role is primarily based at the Fieldston campus in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The hiring rate for this position is $55.00/per hour and will be approximately 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 12pm-6pm. When determining the salary for a position, ECFS considers factors including, but not limited to: the scope and responsibilities of the position, internal peer equity, key skills required for the role, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, as well as market and organizational considerations.
Please note that this is an onsite role and not performed remotely. Ethical Culture Fieldston School retains its right to modify job duties in accordance with changing operational needs.
Responsibilities
The After School Program Associate will include: Managing daily attendance for students and staff in the After School Program, including coordination of drop-off and pick-up logistics;
Reviewing and auditing program offerings to ensure alignment with school expectations for quality, safety, and curricular standards;
Upholding standards for program safety, student confidentiality, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations;
Fostering positive relationships with team members and various stakeholders;
Overseeing inventory and ordering of necessary supplies, tools, and equipment to ensure seamless program execution;
Supporting the planning, development, and administration of program registration processes;
Representing the department at events and community marketing opportunities, as needed;
Performing other related projects and duties as needed and assigned.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
A high school diploma and some college experience required;
A valid AHA or equivalent CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain one;
A least 2 year of previous experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children in a leadership capacity;
The ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with faculty, administrators, and the overall community; A proven ability to multitask and shift priorities without compromising on the quality of work;
The ability to identify issues quickly and problem solve accordingly, and to remain calm in stressful situations that may arise;
An understanding and commitment to cultural competency and how to support a diverse student population;
Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills;
A high degree of organization, resourcefulness, and attention to detail; Has a solid knowledge of computer systems and software including the Google suite of platforms, word processing, spreadsheet and data management;
A positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and the ability to listen effectively and be receptive to feedback; Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
