No County Niagara Street Address Niagara Falls Region City Niagara Falls State NY Zip Code 14303 Duties Description The NYS Parks Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Committee is conducting a search for an EAP Coordinator to provide EAP services to Niagara Region employees. The EAP is a joint labor/management program open to all permanent employees regardless of bargaining unit or title, with the exception of union officials, shop stewards (or the equivalent), employees of the personnel or human resources functions, and affirmative action officers.

The EAP Coordinator provides confidential information, assessments, and referrals to NYS employees and their family members who are experiencing personal or work-related problems. The Statewide EAP will train and support the Coordinator so that the Coordinator can effectively perform the responsibilities of the position. The Coordinator will report to the Niagara Region EAP Committee. This is a voluntary position and must be performed.

In addition to the above duties, the Coordinator will

  • Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior and comply with the NYS EAP Code of Ethics for EAP Coordinators
  • Follow NYS EAP policies and procedures
  • Attend and actively participate in agency EAP Committee meetings
  • Facilitate EAP training programs for management, supervisors, union representatives and employees
  • Create and maintain a file of local, state, and national resources, both public and private
  • Complete and submit a monthly statistical report to NYS EAP
  • Assist with Committee functions as needed
  • Have supervisory approval for adequate release time to fulfill the responsibilities of the EAP coordinator position
  • Have supervisory approval to attend the mandatory three-day training for new coordinators Minimum Qualifications
