Yes County Rensselaer Street Address Capital View Office Park – YDAPS 52 Washington Street City Rensselaer State NY Zip Code 12144 Duties Description The incumbent will report directly to the Deputy Commissioner in the Division of Youth Development and Partnership for Success (YDAPS). The duties include, but are not limited to:
Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of information.
Manage relationships with all division and OCFS staff, external programs, service providers, contractors and other stakeholders.
Coordinate information flow by acting as liaison among executives, staff, other employees, and the public.
Meeting organization and calendar work to include the development of the agenda with the Deputy Commissioner, Associate Commissioner guidance. Attend meetings when needed.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
Conduct special studies and research about issues, policies and programs; and prepare reports and recommendations.
Handle special confidential assignments with knowledge of agency and state procedures, policies, and practices. Provide program managers and staff information regarding policies and practices to maintain operational consistency throughout the division.
Ensure the timely completion of policy, internal clearances, and proposal reviews within the agency document review system.
Prepare written materials and reports, including correspondence, informational documents, reports, data sheets and other materials as needed. Administer communications by preparing and keeping track of correspondence and answer questions from staff, the public, and elected and appointed officials with the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Team.
Carry out administrative duties such as create and maintain data spreadsheets, filing systems, records management and structure (hard copy & e-copy) as necessary. Research and resolve day-to-day administrative op0erational issues.
Perform other duties and special projects as required. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview. Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 or 52.6 transfer.

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).• To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position. The qualifications for the Trainee 1 level are: A bachelor’s degree or higher. The qualifications for the full SG 18 level are: bachelors or higher degree AND two years of professional qualifying experience providing administrative, and staff support to executives, program managers and staff, boards, or commissions by overseeing budget, human resources, and business services activities for an organization or program. A Juris Doctor, master’s or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience. This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Additional Comments •For the duration of the
NY HELPS
Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under
NY HELPS
will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a
NY HELPS
title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
Background Investigation Requirements:
1) All prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks. All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the prospective appointee’s employment application, may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
