EOE POSITION SUMMARY

The Employment Coordinator will be under the direct supervision of the Program Director for the Summer Youth Employment program and is responsible for providing a safe, caring, and enriching environment for youth enrolled in the Summer Youth Employment Program and Work, Learn, & Grow Program. The Employment Coordinator will train and support a team of Employment Specialists and Worksite Monitors, who help recruit, onboard, and support host worksites. The Employment Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation of internship programming, as well as collecting and maintaining all accompanying compliance documentation. In addition to serve as a resource in providing support by assisting with the management of partnerships for both worksites and stakeholders.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

(include but are not limited to): Lead worksite recruitment and outreach efforts in collaboration with the Employer Engagement team. Conduct periodic site visits, during program implementation, to assess and improve program quality. Provide guidance and support to resolve worksite conflicts, including incident reports, job replacements, and support for staff, worksite partners, and participating youth. Encourage teamwork and cooperation among Employment Specialists, Worksite Monitors, partner worksites, and participants to create a positive work atmosphere. Manage database administrative duties, ensuring accurate and efficient data entry and management. Maintain up-to-date advising statistics, work schedules, and reporting documents to inform program decision-making and compliance. Supervise and mentor the Employer Engagement team for effective program implementation. Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for the Employment Engagement team and related staff to maintain program quality and consistency. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with Employment Specialists to provide guidance, support, and feedback. Coordinate and lead weekly Employer Engagement Team Meetings to foster collaboration. Provide strategic guidance, technical assistance, and leadership in developing and refining templates, tools, and resource guides to ensure successful program implementation and enhance effectiveness. Manage conflict resolution processes for staff, participants, and external partners to maintain a positive work environment. Serve as a role model for healthy workplace relationships by promoting clear communication and boundaries. Coordinate with Administrative, Education, and Program teams for cohesive program implementation. Participate in strategic planning, professional development, and debrief sessions to enhance program effectiveness and staff engagement. Provide leadership and support for strategic advisory and departmental projects to achieve organizational goals. Assist with any other duties and projects as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with 2+ years of experience in youth services or working with vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and occasional weekends.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, and remote video platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to stay organized while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and complete work independently.
  • Willingness to take initiative and be flexible when needed.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and values individuals’ different capacities, cultures, and abilities.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and ability to assess and respond to individual needs thoughtfully and accurately.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time.
  • May include travel to a variety of locations, based on programming needs. Which is reimbursed in accordance with UAU’s fiscal policies and procedures
  • May include working prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
