Certified Recovery Peer Advocate – Outreach

out of 5 stars 220 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge, NY 11788 SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Recovery Center Program Director, provides peer support services to community members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Conducting one on one peer support sessions. Facilitating peer support groups. Utilizing recovery expertise, professional training and lived experience. Outreach to engage individuals currently in a program or considering treatment. Educating program participants about various modes of recovery. Accompanying clients to appointments. Provide support and guidance to individuals in recovery from substance abuse or addiction. Assist clients in developing and implementing personalized recovery plans. Conduct regular check-ins with clients to monitor progress and offer encouragement. Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) in good standing
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum one year experience providing peer support services and working in the field of addiction recovery. The ideal candidate is independent and self-motivated with familiarity and experience in the field of addiction. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress. Knowledge of various recovery systems and approaches and knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) software, a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
