The• Part Time Recreational Specialist• is responsible to assist with the Resident Enrichment and Achievement Program (REAP) program, as described below. This program also oversees the agency’s Supported Employment Program and Breakthrough Program, an outreach and education program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for creating monthly calendar of events, coordinating with Mercy Enrichment Coordinator Expands the department and activities available to participants Supports Supported Employment and Breakthrough Program Collaborates with participants and staff to identify ongoing and changing needs for ADL, educational, job training, employment and social interaction workshop and opportunities. Coordinates with Mercy Enrichment Coordinator and applicable staff doe special events Facilitates non-clinical peer groups, workshops and committees Responsible for other related activities as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent required 1-2 years’ experience working with individuals living with mental illness, substance abuse and/or experiencing homelessness required Experience conducting various workshops preferred Valid NYS Driver’s License in good standing

Physical Requirements:

remains stationary for long periods of time in the office, moves intermittently throughout the office during work hours, reaching overhead, may push or pull 15-20 pounds daily, may push or pull up to 50lbs occasionally repetitive wrist/finger movement, read/write reports and use computer on daily basis, drive agency vehicle

PAY RATE

: $19.00 an hour

SCHEDULE

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm, occasional weekend/evening hours for special event
