TITLE :
Farm Program Coordinator
REPORTS TO
Director of Farm Education PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for the development of the Farm Education Program at Sweet Hill. This position will be responsible for the training of all day hab staff, residential staff, and Center residents at the Sweet Hill location.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Management of all aspects of the Farm Education program, from preparation of the site and the animals that will be part of the program. This includes but is not limited to dairy goats, chickens, fiber sheep, and beef cows. Development of a plan for groups to come out to Sweet Hill for field trips with the inclusion of the Sweet Hill residents in the demonstration and teaching of the animals at Sweet Hill. Assist in developing farm integration opportunities for residents of Sweet Hill and in care for the Center’s farm animals. Serves as a liaison between farm, outdoor education, recreation and the residential program in terms of carry over and seamless collaboration. Participates as a collaborative team member in all farm and education team meetings. Assists in the coordination and delivery of farm activities, special events, and farm education programs. Assists in the expansion of farm based opportunities at Sweet Hill including: farm chores, tours, maple sugaring, animal husbandry, and egg processing. Supports and assists the recreation team in the planning and implementation of seasonal festivals. Meets with Supervisor on a regular basis for training and supervision. Assumes all duties and assignments deemed appropriate by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education or related field degree and hands-on experience is preferred. Strong organizational skills Able to function at a high level with minimal supervision. Must be a team player, and must be able and willing to take direction from administration. Must have possession of a valid New York Statedriver’s license. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Flexibility. Evening and Weekend hours on an as needed basis is a requirement.
