THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This Program Specialist is a member of the leadership team coordinating the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement Unit and serves as the training liaison for the agency by mentoring, training, and shadowing staff. You will coach and guide professionals to effectively engage with the people they work and partner with, maintaining a strength-based and respectful attitude at all times. This includes participating in interviews for caseworkers and casework supervisors, providing input for selection, and coordinating and establishing schedules for newly hired staff to shadow and train beside seasoned casework staff in the field and office. You will also support our agency by providing information to the community about the agency’s mission, vision, and values through events and trainings; attend committees and meetings; and relay vital information back to the agency. Work also involves performing other related duties as assigned or directed and could possibly share responsibility for supervisor emergency duty coverage. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Overnight travel and attendance at local, state, and regional trainings as required.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Children, Youth and Families Program Specialist 1; or Three years of professional level experience in the field of children, youth and families; and a bachelor’s degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
You must pass a background investigation.
A conditional offer of employment will require drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
