Memory Matters is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate memory care programs, caregiver support, and brain health education. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Program Specialist to join our dynamic team and help deliver meaningful, life-enriching experiences to individuals living with dementia. About the Role As a Program Specialist, you’ll lead the development and facilitation of adult educational and recreational activities for participants in our in-person Memory Care Day Program —supporting those with mild to moderate dementia. You’ll collaborate closely with staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality, engaging, and safe programming. This is a full-time role reporting to the Director of Programs. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily operation of assigned programs, including implementing curriculum, managing group activities, supervising volunteers, and ensuring participant safety. Complete and maintain accurate participant documentation, intake notes, and client files in compliance with HIPAA. Ensure that all medical records, directives, and emergency plans are current. Work closely with program staff to create a supportive and collaborative environment. Promote peer support and coordination of care across program participants. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on dementia care and cognitive health. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and community outreach events. Serve as an ambassador for Memory Matters in the community. Support special events and other programming as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education, health promotion, social work, gerontology, or related field OR equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience designing and leading group educational or wellness programs. Knowledge of cognitive impairment, memory loss, and related diagnoses. Experience with participant screening and intake preferred. Familiarity with case management systems and HIPAA compliance. Skilled in using Zoom, video technology, and digital tools. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately across diverse backgrounds. Excellent oral and written communication.
