Position Summary :

The Program Manager is responsible for leading all program development, planning, execution, and evaluation efforts for Doors to Dream’s middle and high school-based programs in the North Charleston area and the accompanying social media initiatives. This position will travel to a middle and high school to support and oversee student progress and program implementation.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

Program Management (75%) Co-create and implement programs that support student leadership, growth, and success at Morningside Middle and North Charleston High. Maintain clear communication with school administrators and guidance teams to stay up-to-date on weekly events, schedule changes, and student needs. Build strong, trust-based relationships with students by consistently showing up, following through, and bringing positivity. Train and support volunteers and interns who contribute to program delivery. Design and implement evaluation tools to measure impact and guide continuous improvement. Communicate program outcomes and stories to funders, partners, and other stakeholders. Work with the Executive Director and Board to shape strategic direction, policies, and long-term vision. Support fundraising efforts by identifying and sustaining funding streams to grow and sustain programs. Ensure program policies and procedures are current and consistently followed. Assist in building a strong volunteer base to support program implementation. Leadership and Community Outreach (25%) Serve as a community ambassador for Doors to Dream at public events, speaking engagements, and partner meetings. Capture and organize photos and videos from sessions, school visits, and community events to support storytelling and communications. Maintain program budgets and track expenditures to ensure alignment with goals. Respond to partnership inquiries and help cultivate new mission-aligned collaborations. Jump in as a team player and assisting with other organizational tasks and special projects as needed. Other duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university OR supplementary strong experience. Minimum two (2) years of experience working in education, youth development, nonprofits programming, or community development programs. Experience leading a team. Experience and/or training in racial equity and inclusion; if none – must be willing to have extensive training upon hiring. Competent in G Suite. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Desired Competencies:

Strong commitment to promoting and supporting social equity, education, and volunteerism. Experience in management or nonprofit administration is preferred. Experience in social media maintenance and content creation. Patient and flexible with unexpected challenges regarding students. Don’t meet every single requirement? Working Conditions:

This position may be required to work outside of general operating hours of business, including weekends and/or evenings. This position has the option of being hybrid allowing for flexibility in work hours.

Physical Requirements:

Office-type environment with regular use of basic office equipment (i.e., computer, printer, phone system, copy machine/scanner, projector, etc.). Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods. Ability to travel to various program sites. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Ability to participate in programming when needed.
