Position Description Advertised Job Summary Accommodations Coordinator Are you experienced in customer service? Are you passionate about students and providing them with the best resources possible? Are you organized and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously? The Accommodations Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the overall operational mission and goals of the Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC). This position primarily focuses on facilitating the implementation of accommodations for students registered with SDRC while also providing support to faculty and staff and promoting disability awareness throughout the greater Carolina community. Key responsibilities include overseeing and training Graduate Assistants on key SDRC procedures such as faculty notifications, test proctoring services, and the Two Thumbs Up program. This position also manages the coordination and delivery of accommodations, including assistive technology, note-taking services, and interpreting and captioning services, in collaboration with external interpreting agencies. The Accommodations Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate implementation of accommodations and responding to student and faculty needs as they arise. This role requires a strong customer service orientation, as it involves frequent interaction with students, faculty, and campus partners. The Accommodations Coordinator will also provide coverage for walk-in appointments and serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for students seeking guidance or assistance related to their accommodations.
Additional responsibilities include:
Supporting data collection and tracking related to note taker services, registered student metrics, orientation and training initiatives, and special projects. Assisting in the planning, implementation, and supervision of both short
- and long-term service strategies that support students with disabilities.
Performing general office duties and contributing to the completion of special projects as assigned by leadership. Collaborating closely with Disability Resource Managers and other team members to maintain high standards of service and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a commitment to advancing access and equity for students with disabilities.
