This position is located in the Bureau of Managed Care, Richland County. Are you the One? We are looking for a Data Analyst II who will be responsible for gathering program requirements and questions to generate monitoring and tracking templates and data analysis in the form of exploring and summarizing data from various data sources. The Data Analyst is responsible for summarization, communication, and translation of data findings and will work collaboratively with other Managed Care staff and other DHHS program staff as appropriate. The Data Analyst is responsible for learning and remaining familiar with the MCO Contract, P&P Guide, provider manuals, and policies to ensure appropriate data exploration. Conduct data analysis on program-specified special projects using standard data exploration techniques including trend analysis and outlier identification. Ensure data quality through verification of outlying data points. Communicate logic model, data analysis steps, and results from data analysis to specific program staff and ensure understanding. Conduct data analysis on contract monitoring data sets using standard data exploration techniques including trend analysis and outlier identification. Ensure data quality through verification of outlying data points. Communicate logic model, data analysis steps, and results from data analysis. Develops procedures for the management, verification and maintenance of contract monitoring data. Conducts timely data management and validation of contract monitoring data. Attends and participates in relevant opportunities for professional development and training. Demonstrates utilization and application of new skills learned to improve effectiveness and efficiency within assigned responsibilities. Performs other related duties as required. Covers tasks and responsibilities of other team members during periodic or extended absences. Ensures assigned tasks are completed thoroughly and within the time allotted. Takes appropriate training as required. Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of methods of research design, data collection, data manipulation, data analysis and presentation of information. Knowledge of applicable computer software products such as SAS, Excel, Python, and R. Ability to analyze and interpret data using various statistical and mathematical techniques. Ability to prepare and present reports communicating the results of data analysis. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively.
