Duties:
Responsible for the gathering, compiling, analysis and reporting of property and casualty insurance data related to the Insurance Reserve Fund. Analyze data to identify trends, summarize findings and make recommendations to management to mitigate potential risk and trends to the Fund. Compiles data to creates ad hoc reports to satisfy various requests from both internal and external customers including members of the General Assembly, the media, auditors, actuaries, appraisers, and the reinsurance market. Assist with development of Statement of Values to support the property reinsurance program. Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g., claims data, underwriting data) and notify management of performance deviations and anomalies. Collaborate with underwriting, claims and IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Works collaboratively with Senior Business Analyst to create detailed project plans to ensure the needs of the business units are met and data integrity is maintained. Assists customers with inquiries related to the statistical database available to insureds on the IRF’s website. Candidate must be able to work simultaneously on a variety of projects, maintain a high level of accuracy and have strong analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Must be logical thinker who is organized, detail oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Requires the ability to extract and analyze large volumes of data as well as communicate to internal and external customers in a concise, informative manner. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor’s degree and experience involving the collection, analysis, interpretation or reporting of complex data or an acceptable equivalence. Candidates must specifically meet the Agency Minimum Requirement, or equivalent combination of education and experience, to be considered for this position. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in either Business, Insurance, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science and at least two (2) years of professional experience involving risk analysis or data modeling of property and casualty insurance data or a bachelor’s degree and a least two (2) years of professional experience with the reinsurance market and/or compilation of Statement of Value reports.
