Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development and implementation of assigned SOM Office of Research programs and initiatives. This position will be responsible for implementation and administrative tasks, as assigned, to support research projects, research program activities, and office operations Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Experience in clinical or translational research and/or research grant administration. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities The ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations; resolve problems and communicate outcomes; interpret plans and interact with various levels of personnel; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; use technology, problem solve and utilize conscious decision making.

Job Duties Job Duty Research Program Support:

Administrative tasks for SOM Office of Research (SOM OOR) research and grant support programs and services including the research & grant development consultation program, biostatistical support consultation program and student research programs and initiatives. Including program communications, implementation logistics, developing agendas, scheduling, meeting minutes, event coordination, program applications, coordinating presenters and reviewers, and program and grant submission timelines. Job Duty Research Project Support:

Serve as a SOM OOR point of contact and as a research navigator for the SOM, connecting faculty and students to research resources and information. Under the direction of the Grant Operations Manager, assist or manage administrative and/or fiscal tasks needed for project implementation (post-award) including grant travel, requisitions and purchase orders, retro forms, invoicing, and account fund changes. Assists with grant budget tracking for PIs. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 35

Job Duty Research Program Tracking and OOR Communications:

Assists in managing and updating the research office database. Enters contact information of investigators, collaborators, partners, mentors, coordinators, and center program learners. Manages or assists with the development and/or dissemination of research office announcements and news, annual reporting, and website updates as needed.
