POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Youth Development Director (or branch specific designee) and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and management of
SPECIFIC
programs and events as assigned. Responsible for the implementation and coordination of Youth Development programming, as assigned. Responsible for supervision and safety of participants including appropriate discipline within the established guidelines. Assist with hiring, training, supervising and evaluating assigned program staff. Maintain effective relationships with children and parents. Monitor and maintain all supplies, materials and equipment as needed. Lead individual and group activities as needed. Ensure that communications are clear and ongoing. Provide assistance to the Youth Development Director (or designee) in monitoring the assigned program budgets. Represent the YMCA in a professional manner. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of an Associate degree or two years towards a four-year degree OR Minimum 5 years related experience Ability to learn and adhere to the YMCA programs, philosophies and mission. Must present a professional image and posses excellent written and oral skills. Supervisory skills preferred Working knowledge of budget management Detail oriented with strong organization skills. Current certifications in CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen. Computer skills in MS Office and ability to learn company specific software. Ability to solve problems demonstrating initiative and sound judgment in accordance with YMCA policies. Ability to successfully work with a diverse population of members, staff, and volunteers.
