Job Summary
The essential function of the position is to coordinate, plan, organize, and control all operations and staff involved in the Magnet School Assistance Program Grant. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of the grant to improve student achievement, reduce minority group isolation, and develop, design and implement innovative educational practices.
What you will do
Recruits, hires, and supervises the district magnet staff.
Coordinates regular meetings with magnet school staff and collaborating partners to disseminate pertinent information regarding MSAP guidelines and builds a professional support network among school-based staff with similar responsibilities and interests; provides workshops and organizes conferences for school and district leaders and teachers on the latest evidence-based practices related to TN State Standards, STEAM, curriculum mapping, PBL, cultural competence, and other strategies being piloted by the magnet school programs.
Develops cohorts of teacher leaders, including recruitment teams and curriculum design teams, to ensure the sustainability of the magnet programs beyond the funding period; coordinates district-wide and school-based staff training activities, including those facilitated by outside agencies.
Monitors the applicant pool and enrollment data for the magnet and feeder schools.
Edits district-wide magnet publications, collaborates on the magnet website, and uses social media outlets to support the District’s marketing efforts.
Develops positive community support for the District’s magnet programs through public presentations at widely advertised parent workshops, and other community forums, and supporting the schools in their efforts to increase parent involvement.
Serves as the primary liaison to the

USDOE MSAP

Program Officer and ensuring compliance with all requirements laid out by the USDOE and the Office for Civil Rights; monitors all project expenditures and provides school staff with technical assistance in meeting fiscal and budgetary guidelines.
Serves as a liaison to the project evaluator, assists schools in the collection of required program data and documentation, provides feedback to the evaluator on the evaluation design, instrument development activities, and data collection procedures.

$112,735.07
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
