Development and Fundraising Job Description The Tennessee Fund is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to join the Tennessee Fund team for a one-year development assistantship. Bachelor’s degree is required, or applicant must be in pursuit of a [4 year/associates/leave “degree” only] degree at time of hire. Applicants must obtain a bachelor’s degree or be pursuing a degree with the intention to graduate by May 2025. A Master’s degree and one year of experience in intercollegiate athletics development, marketing, sales or related field preferred. Computer, phone and demonstrated organizational skills necessary. Position involves weekend and after-hours work as needed. This position will gain valuable experience within a Power 5 athletic development office. This position is scheduled for a one-year term; it may be extended upon mutual agreement.
Responsibilities Responsibilities:
Assist with daily internal and financial operations of the TN Fund
Process all gifts and season ticket renewals via credit card and check
Directly aid the Chief Development Officer with all duties as assigned
Gift-in-kind; tracking, invoice review, ticket questions and other items affiliated with the GIK program
Assist with crafting, implementing and updating policies and procedures
Assist with the preparation for various special events throughout the year
Be well-versed in Ticketmaster and our donor management software, ACE, such that this role can assist with phone calls and emails from donors
Related Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent the Tennessee Fund in a positive manner through interactions with donors, fans and alumni.
Attend all assigned meetings
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Tennessee Fund
Be prepared to work, as needed, all necessary sporting events across 20 varsity programs
Greet visitors and perform facility tours as requested
Goals of the
Assistantship:
Provide a first-hand experience in a NCAA Division I development office.
Develop the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in a full-time position following the assistantship.
Qualifications The Development Assistant serves approximately 40 hours a week, and some nights and weekends are required. The pay range for this position starts at $31,200, commensurate on experience and qualifications. This is a non-exempt hourly position. Overtime pay may be applied, as applicable. This position is scheduled for a one-year term; it may be extended upon mutual agreement. Previous development assistants with the Tennessee Fund have accepted full-time positions at the University of Tennessee, Clemson, Michigan State, NC State, Northwestern and Tulane, among numerous other Division I institutions directly following the development assistantship.
